Hope & Prayer

“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Psalm 61:2

Prayer for the Anxious Soul

Psalm 139

Kind Father,

I cry out to You Who both sees me and knows me here in this moment. I ask that You quiet my heart, calm my mind, and give me peace.

Remind me of Your power—Your complete, unchallenged authority over all the events in my life.

Remind me of Your wisdom—Your perfect understanding of all that has been and will be.

Remind me of Your eternal goodness—Your great and unchanging love for me. Fill my mind with these truths and let them destroy fear, all worry, and all anxiety in me.

Be near to me and give me grace to glorify You by resting in You in this moment.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen

Prayer for the Sleepless Night

Psalm 4:8

Heavenly Father,

I pray to You here in the darkness, knowing You have not forgotten me. I pray that You would let me know Your presence here tonight. I pray that You will quiet me, calm me, and give me the gift of sleep. Help me to entrust all the care of tomorrow to You. Help me to remember that while I sleep You shelter me, Your merciful hand upholds me, and You alone make me dwell in safety.

Father, I pray for rest but help me to have peace even if sleep does not come, knowing You have power to work all things—even this long night—for my good. Be with me and give me peace.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen

Prayer for the Broken Heart

Psalm 34:18

Merciful Father,

I cry out in brokenness—I lift my heart and my hands to you. Both are empty. Both have suffered, and yet I lift my voice to You—the God of all comfort, and the God Who has promised to be near the broken hearted.

Father, I ask You to give me faith to know Your presence in this moment. Help me to see with the eyes of faith. Help me recognize the thousand ways You have prepared me to walk this journey, the thousand mercies by which You have carried me and will continue to carry me in the days ahead. Give me grace to trust that even now, even here, You will guide and uphold me. Hold my heavy heart and help me in this moment to trust in You.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
